Pediatric Speech, Language & Literacy has been working with children for over 30 years. We serve families from Northern Westchester, NYC and Western Connecticut.

The family is at the heart of our practice. We provide world class speech and language services to help children and young adults with all forms of communication challenges. We always keep in mind the circle of learning from spoken to written language (receptive language,  expressive language, social language, reading and writing) so they evolve into life long learners.

We work with all budgets. Our insurance partners are Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Health Care and Anthem. We also take private payment.

Who We Are

Who We Are

After 30 years, I as the director and founder of PSLLS continue to look forward to one-of-a-kind interactions with my little ones and continue my enthusiasm and energies for my young adults as well.  Many, many can attest that our staff is carefully selected to support family centered non-verbal and verbal communication facilitating the circle of learning by establishing the needed attention, efficient processing, and the abilities to manipulate the spoken and written word contextualized and de-contextualized to create communicative competence.

Typically referred by pediatricians and listed by schools, we encourage parents and other professionals to inquire about our programs.  We also consult for private schools on curriculum development and perform screenings to detect language processing and dyslexia early.

Victoria Carlin, Vice President, Morgan Stanley

"We hired Laureen as a speech pathologist for my developmentally delayed son over 6 years ago. From the very beginning her expertise in speech, reading, writing, and developmental delays has been invaluable and so crucial to my son's successes. I would highly recommend her to anyone. We have continued to use Laureen over the years because she has always kept us on the cutting edge of techniques and technologies to use with my son. He continues to make great progress because of her extensive experience and innovative ideas. Laureen also has a unique talent for understanding a child's cognitive style and being able to best match that with the latest technologies and strategies. My daughter has also participated in Laureen's Homework Helpers program. This program has been hugely successful in that it has helped my daughter with executive functioning skills, organizational strategies, writing strategies, test taking skills, social skills, and overall confidence so critical to a child in the middle school years. I would highly recommend Laureen and these programs she offers."

Nigel Yell, Global Project Executive, IBM

"My family has used Laureen's services for both speech in the early years, and homework help since middle school. Laureen was able to provide that extra curricula activity and nurturing that enabled our son to be successful from elementary school to high school, where he is now a Junior and a member of the National Honour Society. Along the way, our son has learnt to become self motivated and to ask for extra help when needed. We highly recommend Laureen and her staff for children who need that specialised nudge to get them going and be happy and successful in life."

Alexis Johnson, Co-Director, Center for Intentional Living

"Laureen is a fabulous, caring speech professional. Over 25 years, I have referred many families to her with different, complicated issues. In each case, she has taken up the challenge to find the best appraoch to help that particular individual. If you need an expert in speech and language literacy, a consultation with Laureen is the place to start."
